What is Natural Beeswax and Why Is It in My Lip Balm?

There are 3 main types of Beeswax: Yellow, White, and Absolute. Yellow Beeswax is the natural, unrefined, and raw wax derived directly from the honeycomb, which is what we use at Daisy Blue. YAY! White Beeswax is the result of Yellow Beeswax undergoing a filtering/purifying/bleaching process. YUCK! Beeswax Absolute is the result of treating Yellow Beeswax with Alcohol. Double YUCK!!
We love Natural Beeswax because it is a natural gift from Mother Nature and the honeybees of course!

Why is beeswax good for your skin?

Beeswax is an effective occlusive, which means that it can create a protective layer on the skin, helping your skin to retain its own moisture. It also has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, which can help protect the skin, too!

It calms the skin without clogging pores!

Local is better!

Did you know that there is a benefit for purchasing honey that is collected from a beekeeper in your geographical area? When you ingest or use products that can be absorbed that contain beeswax or honey from a source located in your region, it will help with allergies. Research supports the theory that local honey may help to build an immunity to seasonal allergies.

Where does Daisy Blue source their beeswax?

Our beeswax is sourced from local beekeepers, who are raising bees and selling honey, beeswax, and honeycomb ethically and sustainably without destroying the colonies of bees. Bees are imperative to our survival as humans. Our food chain would virtually be non-existent without it. So, making sure you’re getting properly sourced products from bees is important and we will continue to do our part to save the bees!
